Matt Woosey is a British blues singer who has been extremely busy. He is currently knocking out around 250 gigs a year and just returned to these shores after completing a successful tour of South Africa, Europe and Australia.
Hook, Line and Sinker is a five track EP - four songs and one radio edit - which highlight Matt's powerful vocals which are a highlight here. The guitar playing is refined and understated, with the vocals pushed to the front of the mix.
The title track features percussive drums, and tight bass and guitar with Matt belting out the vocals - it's a real treat.
Let It Flow is more jazz tinged but again features some strong muscular vocals. Could You Be The One? is more riff-based with a walking bass line which lifts the song a la Nina Simone. The last track, Give Me All Your Love, Babe, slows the pace down and has a distinct early Led Zeppelin feel, which isn't bad at all.
