House Of Hats hail from Brighton they have been playing live as a band since 2012, after listening to their debut album, (due for release 24th March 2014), you would think they had been together much longer. With impressive male, female sharing lead vocals, backed up with great accompaniment and harmonies.

The composition is well thought out, the tracks flow beautifully on from one another, definitely an album that takes you on a journey.Stunningly Produced by Grammy Award winner Pete Smith (Sting, Joe Cocker, Squeeze)

One thing we can be certain about in Folk Music, songs are all about Death, Dying, Lost Love, nearly love , nearly dying.... you get the picture

Its a shame this album isn't set for release for February this a refreshing Folky Love album. Which i think would be a great wooing album for a romantic candlelit meal for two. This is not to suggest that this is slushy ballad album, quite the opposite. The lyrics and musicianship of House of Hats showcase that folk music is in safe hands with bands of this calibre around.

This poses quite a challenge to point out my stand out tracks, I loved the whole album. Which I think is quite rare to like every track, but there i have said it.

This Love- great song, hooks you immediately, Noddy's vocals have an honest sincere, moving quality.

Close to Me- the harmonies blend beautifully the accompaniment so subtle yet carries you along the musical wave effortlessly.

Rivers Will Run.Right Behind You- Stunning vocal, Joanne and Gold all fantastic tracks.

Very clever twist, the last track on the album This Love again, this time with female vocal, leaves me in turmoil, i now cannot decide which out of the two different versions, i like the best.

I highly recommend you follow House of Hats on fb, Twitter, and look out for their five week tour from London to the West Country, to Scotland and back. February and March 2014.

Overall this is one refreshingly, honest album from a band that i predict will be going on to greater things in 2014.
