Barely six months ago, Abbe Martin and Hannah Wood delivered a nine-track album (A Long Way To Fall) that showcased their individuality, their potent, energetic and captivating blend of pounding acoustic stompery and spiky, often dazzlingly scattergun lyrics, definitely leaving me wanting more.

My prayers appear to have been answered (well, for just under a quarter of an hour!) by the arrival of this new EP, which provides more of the same. By which I don't mean it's predictable, but rather that it's consistent with the album's vision, in effect a kind of supplement to the earlier album with its songs every bit as compelling and catchy in their own special way. The emotional core of this EP is arguably the sparsely scored, intimate All That I Could Find, with its key combination of reassurance and devotion that characterised several of the songs on the earlier album.

Once again, the girls' acute inter-personal chemistry and innate sense of vocal harmony is (still) miraculous, and so truthfully recorded in the studio, with guitar and mando configured backdrops propelled by seriously driven, entirely purposeful percussion lines that provide an irresistible counterpoint to their singing. Once you've experienced and got used to the mighty Sound Of The Sirens sound, you'll not want to hear anything less.
