Despite a three decade background as a performing musician, Toronto's Lee Palmer came relatively late to recording, but seems to be determined to make up for lost time. His debut, "One Take: Live At Canterbury" was released in 2013 and that's already being followed by his sophomore album, "60 Clicks".

As with album number one, "60 Clicks" was recorded live and to achieve that Palmer brought in a number of the best roots musicians Toronto had to offer. One of the things I like about the approach and the efforts of the people behind the desk is that there is a little bit of a warts and all, well maybe not warts, but blemishes, aspect to the sound, it's not note for note perfect, but it's full of life and passion.

"60 Clicks" is Americana with a big arching A, incorporating blues, folk and country across the ten tracks with quite a lot of variation in the mix moving from songs that have a real blues shouter feel to ones that have much more of a troubdour sound.

You get the feeling that in those years before he started making his own records, that Palmer was a bit of a collector of stories and was probably more than a bit player in a lot of them, there is a tone, a quality to the material that suggests a real sense of ownership.

Lee Palmer may be late to theparty, but the quality of "60 Clicks" would suggest that having found a way to crash in, he's got the right to be in the room and doesn't look like he's going to be leaving any time soon.
