Just listening to Red Hot Chilli Pipers new album, entitled Breathe, is something I cannot do when listening to these tracks. The whole album is full of high energy, get off your backside and head bang to this album. If you suffer from a heart defect, then when you’re listening to this you may want to be careful. Straight away, like the Red Hot Chilli Pipers mention in this album it kicks off with a dynamic song. The Silver Spear, sores right into my very heart and bring out the Scot in me. You can hear the passion that these guys have oozing out of the songs that they have included on this record.

I would love to hear these guys live in concert, as the acoustics on this album are fantastic. Forget your traditional Scottish Bag Pipes, these musicians take a twist on the traditional and make it modern and relevant to the music of today. I really liked listening to their versions of the modern day classics such as Don’t Stop Believing and Use Somebody. As a fan of Glee, this track was perfect for me, I was unsure of how the Pipers music style would go together with this particular song. The band proves me wrong and they manage to pull it off and make it their own which is important for a band.

Listening to this album I can picture myself, riding on my bike and cycling on the hills enjoying the fantastic views of the countryside. If I was asked to choose a favourite from the album Breathe, I would have to say Love Will Keep Us Alive. Maybe it’s because I am a north east lass but I really appreciate the Red Hot Chilli Pipers adding the tune of local hero, it just brings it all back home for me. Now I know why these guys are called the Red Hot Chilli Pipers as their music is smoking hot and I simply cannot wait to let their fans sit back and breathe to their new album.
