This is the 5th album and most polished release by Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors, country rockers from Memphis. As track one suggests, we should 'walk a mile in another man's shoes' and that is exactly the journey Drew takes us on moving through the album. From the outset there is familiar instrumentation, letting the lyrics and the vocals deliver the message of the songs. The Title track is an easy tempo, country rock song reminiscent of Ryan Adams in many ways. Good light has a hugely positive message that is impossible to deny.

But there is depth and sincerity to the album as well, The Wine we Drink and A Place to Lay My Head are borne of honesty and portray sentiments that are common to us all.

The wine we drink has a lovely duet with Ellie Holcomb. Ellie delivers a vocal performance on this song that has a gentle and fallible beauty that just made me want to hear more and more. The next track Tennessee sees Drew shining brightly in this immediately catchy tribute to his homeland which is expressed with an obvious love and sincerity.

And so we have an album that works well together as a collection of songs, and although not every song works in absolute harmony with each other, this is a great collection non the less. And at the end of the journey, at the end of the mile, on the last track we are left with the hopeful idiom that 'we've always got tomorrow'.
