The New Groove are a band that shows clouds really do have a silver lining and that serendipity is alive and well and living in London. The band came about because lead vocalist and co-founder Ben Curtis quit his day job to aid his recovery from prostate cancer and found himself in a mood for writing and playing music.

An old friend, Steve French had, coincidently, taken a year out from their day job to see if he could turn his passion for music into something other than a pipedream and the roots of The New Groove were beginning to form.

Producer and sound engineer Steve Orchard, brought the rest of the band to the game and suddenly London found it's self with a new blues rock band with a strong soul influence and they haven't really looked back since.

"Quit Bitchin'" is the first fruits of the fully fledged blues band and they've got a really good mix of material to share. "Rip It Up" is one of those classic introduce the band type rock 'n' roll songs that give the various instrumentalists in the outfit to showcase their talents without detracting from anything deep and meaningful.

Deep and meaningful isn't missing from the album either, there are number of songs on the album, "It Ain't Easy", "Teen Streets" and "Injustice" that pick up on both personal and social themes in a classical blues style. There's something of a pep talk there, yes times are hard, but pick yourself up and together we can come through it.

The New Groove are a band that really click and in "Quit Bitchin'" they have found real expression, ahh the positive power of music, it lifts the soul.
