Mark Wynn
Second album offering from the prolific York based busker Mark Wynn features a kaleidoscopic vista of narrative and stream of consciousness songwriting a la John Cooper Clarke and Graham Fellows mould.
The songs are presented as destructured, spontaneous and self-indulgent two-minute snatches, and if this was jazz it'd be filed under 'improvisation'.
Bedsitter balladeers will surely gain much inspiration and an equally large boost to their confidence levels, hopefully enough to persuade them to venture out to that open-mic session they've been promising to hit one Monday evening.
Glancing up to the CD player, I was up to track 7 in eleven minutes, and hadn't noticed anything change from track 1. Enough said.
