One of the ways I judge how much I've like a CD is whether or not it makes it into my car. Hannah Robinson's new EP is currently in the CD player, always a good sign. A compact offering of 4 tracks, this is an excellent showcase of both her mature and descriptive writing style, as well as her emotive and expansive vocals.

From the dramatic and emotional Starts a Whisper to the more introspective Early Days, all the songs are engaging to listen to with beautifully clear lyrics and strong arrangements. I will confess I'm not always a fan of electric guitar solos but on this occasion they were both subtle and tasteful, perfectly in keeping with the rest of the musicianship displayed.

This was my first introduction to Hannah's work but I will certainly be looking out for her previous recording so it can join my car collection.
