The website reads 'The Poozies, instrumental, vocal, sensational'; the literature that accompanies this album boldly describes this album as 'a contemporary gem' and the band themselves as 'pioneers and trailblazers'.....'Into The Well' is to be fair, sensational, both vocally and instrumentally, and yep, I reckon it's a gem too.....pioneers and trailblazers, well maybe so!

Rather than a melting pot or fusion, I see this as an eloquent courtship between the contemporary and the traditional.......the two at ease and gently cavorting and in doing so creating an elegant collection to surely please those of many a musical leaning.

The guitars are rhythmic and probing; the delights of the electro-harp are enthralling throughout; the accordions add texture upon texture while the fiddles punctuate meticulously..... the four part harmonies, whether upon traditional or upon contemporary, are in themselves an absolute pleasure to behold, so easy, so refined and so consistently perfect!

So, here we have hi-energy jigs and reels, Gaelic tradition, newly composed ballads and a wonderful cover version of 'Three Chords and the Truth' (Lynn Miles) all crafted to the optimum level, all oozing class and quality and all easily accessible......The Poozies continue their crusade to cross folk with soul, pop, country and as they say 'any enticing genre' and in doing so create a potent blend, heart warming, uplifting and, well, harmoniously faultless.......
