A full length CD follows hot on the heels of their recent EP, Footnotes. Ward Thomas are 20-year old twin sisters Catherine and Lizzy Ward Thomas from Hampshire, England. it could be considered somewhat of a fluke that their demo song found it's way to Nashville, but for the first time in a long time I am excited to hear British country music that sounds like country music. There are, in fact, times you could forget that is duo aren't American.

They were introduced to country music in their late teens when a cousin was visiting. The influences of those early introductions; Johnny Cash, Carrie Underwood, Aliaon Krauss, are clearly discernible in their sounds and harmonies. Town of Ugley even features vocals from none other than Vince Gill.

They maintain a consistent sound and harmony throughout the twelve tracks, with standout tracks including the above mentioned, Way Back When, Push for the Stride, Guestlist, Try, lead track Footnotes, and the moving From Where I Stand, written about their parents' divorce and as such very relatable to many listeners.

Further enhanced by excellent musicianship, including pedal steel, guitar, drums, the CD creates an authentic country music sound, which explains their heavy airplay on Radio 2.

A tour is to follow, which I am sure will further enable them to show the world that we do indeed make some excellent country music, right here at home.
