There is no doubt that Johnno Casson's alter ego Snippet has a more electronic element to his sound, but then there's no doubting his singer-songwriting, folk influenced credentials either. Similarly anyone that can't feel the warmth of Summer in his new release, "The Sunshine EP" has never picnicked in the park, taken a lazy evening stroll along beach or made love atop a haystack to the sound of songbirds. Ok, I'll let you off the last one, which I think is technically illegal and the straw gets in places it shouldn't anyway.

The point I'm trying to make is that "The Sunshine EP" , from its whistled opening captures that spirit of Summer in a way I've not heard since Mungo Jerry recorded "In The Summertime" without encouraging you to go out and have a drink, have a drive.

This is six tracks which have a frothy pop edge, that at times reminded me of early Squeeze, only slightly less bitter. Snippet really captures the mood of the season. "The Sunshine Ep" really is about chilling out, capturing the rays and simply kicking back.

Johnno Casson, has a knack for capturing a mood, be it serious or more frivolous, via Snippet, he has delivered an EP that is fun to listen to at the same time as broaden the boundaries of the folk singer-songwriter experiences and a few to the boundary always adds up to a good score.
