Steve Summers Band
This debut album from Reading based trio the Steve Summers Band comprises of a mixture of covers of classic Blues and Rock standards plus four self penned tracks. All are played with solid musicianship by Steve Summers (guitar), Scott Hunter (drums) and Trevor Brookes (bass) who have come together in the past year after many years each of being touring and session musicians. The production is also worth a mention as everything is where it should be in the mix.
Of the self penned tracks Little Miss Blue is the standout with a good riff and driving beat, of the covers the slow blues instrumental track Am I Losing You showcases Steve's excellent fret work.
If you like Larry Miller, Joe Bonamassa and Walter Trout you should like this excellent debut album.
