With this new album by Scotland's Hellfire Club you are treated to a great fat slice of Americana Pie. Wearing their influences proudly The Hellfires (is it ok to call them that, we only just met) take us on a musical journey that shows off their excellent song writing skills. It would be a little crass to simply list the artists this collection puts me in mind off, but suffice to say that if you like your Americana authentic and relevant you will not be disappointed.

I did find the short musical "vignettes' interspersed between the main tracks a little out of place and slightly off putting but the album is no less richer as a result.

The mix of guitars, banjos, mandolins, organs along with the male and female vocals could make for messy tracks but they all blend beautifully!

Great songs played well, very well. What's not to like?
