Danny Schmidt has one of those mystical and captivating voices that can really reel you in very quickly. This album, 'Owls', in particular gives us a great piece of American singer songwriting. Danny gives us a wonderful sounding set of songs, where his voice dominates the entire collection from start to finish, with some strong supportive vocals too.
The lyrics to each song are also each very well written and brings up the exact imagery that Danny wants. Equally the music on each track is a great mix of gentle guitars and soft percussion, particularly on 'Faith Will Always Rise'.

The music and vocals on the album are balanced nicely so they complement each other perfectly, with neither over shadowing the other. Danny is clearly a good writer as the images he presents to us on songs such as 'Bad Year For Cane', really demonstrates how hard he works on his craft.

'Owls' is the seventh album for Danny Schmidt and his experience in the industry really comes through in how he relaxed he sounds in his music. There is little stress or over keenness that can sometimes leak through into an artist's work.

An impressive album from an experienced and well rounded artist.
