This is the fifth studio album by Danny & The Champions Of The World one that is borne on the back of a long period of extensive touring. The result is simply exemplary. A collection of ten really well crafted songs, recorded by a match fit and watertight band. There is real soul in this Americana and America is rooted deep within its soul.

Danny states that 'every song on the album is a love song of some fashion.' The arrangements are joyous with tremendous horn sections, syrupy pedal steel and classic clean Fender guitar sounds straight out of Detroit or Memphis. The album opens with a wonderfully addictive romp through Clear Water and goes on to explore various of aspects of love as suggested by the title of the album. The title track itself, What Kind Of Love has oodles of soul and there is a nod of the head in Danny's vocal, to the greats that have gone before. The album ends with The Sound Of A Train complimented with some amazing backing vocals a swooping pedal steel clarinet and sax. It's a lovely noise from beginning to end. Folks, we have a new benchmark!
