Swedish artist Luna Green has quite a fun story of how she got into music. She started by imitating birdsong and this developed into a love of sing. This is at least what her bio on the National website says. How literal this is unclear.

The import thing however is her music. Her voice is something I found very surprising. After seeing her picture on the album cover and on the National website I did not expect the sweet vocal sound that hit my ears. There is an air of confidence and mystery in her voice that makes each track on the album completely enchanting.

It is hard to place exactly what style of music you could class this kind of music as. The songs are easy listening to and gentle on the ears but many of them such as 'Towers' are also very exciting to listen to. There is a nice mix of different sounds on the album with some similar sounding jazz in her voice during 'Green Eyes'.

There is a good variety of instruments thrown into the mix as well; if you take 'Goblin Fruit' then you are struck with a powerful guitar strum that works alongside Luna's vocals.

Luna clearly has a strong talent that shines through on her debut album. If any future releases are half as good as her first then she will do very well.
