The Trouser Trumpets... a fascinating name for a fascinating band to say the least. This band is, of course, comedy. Their website was the something I decided to look up before even touching the music and I found it complicated and confusing. This is something I suspect may be completely intentional by the band.

The download I received only has four tracks, so I kicked off with the title track 'Somewhere in Sahara' and was greeting by an array of jazz and percussion along with some suspiciously Jake Thackray sounding vocals. The vocals are not lead by Thackray of course but it does make me wonder if he was an inspiration behind the band.

The music in itself is very bouncy and very stereotypical comical. I could very much picture this kind of music being used in the background of slapstick films, especially as I could not make any kind of sense of the lyrics themselves.

As the jolly tunes progressed I was still quite confused and really unsure what on earth I was listening to. This all being said I found I wanted to hear more and listen to the full sample. I then found I wanted to listen again.

This band grew on me more and more as I listened and it wasn't long before I was thoroughly enjoying them. The songs are silly and random, and this is exactly how they are supposed to be! I was caught off guard but the music itself is amusing and more importantly actually very enjoyable to listen to!
