Intriguingly UK singer songwriter KT Tunstall recorded her new CD in Arizona, and a distinct country/ blues/ folk sound shines through. KT has said herself that this CD was all about her voice and my word do we see a wonderful diversity.

As the name of the CD may suggest, this release is an album of two halves. Half deals with the death of her father, which clearly affected her deeply, whilst the second half addresses the breakdown of her marriage. A depressing album you may expect, but this is certainly not what she has delivered.

Songs such as Made of Glass, Yellow Flower, Feel it All and Honeydew, eloquently and poignantly explore the mixed emotions that life changing events can bring; events and emotions to which I'm sure many of us can, or will, relate.

The musical accompaniment is sparse but perfect alongside KT's lyrics and vocals. Subtle yet powerful; this is, I hope, indicative of where KT Tunstall's creativity is headed.
