Jenny Beck
Jenny Beck hails from Sweden, although she lived in the UK for a short while, a few years ago. Bluebird is her new release, and contains 15 tracks, including one bonus and two live tracks. It is her first album since 2006's On The Outside and musically, vocally and lyrically, it is a huge leap forward.
She sings with a vocal maturity that belies her years, songs with often intriguing titles, which suggest they come from experience, from life, in all its glory, happy and sad, good and bad. She sings of love, loss, hope, despair, joy and pain. She reminds us that we are all in this life together, more alike than we realise; we feel the same things, experience the same things, and songs such as these are what give us those common threads.
