This American band has a very interesting back-story, forming because of two deceased elephants! It may sound bizarre but look at it as a kind of inspiration type scenario where this tragic story just found a good basis for this band to work with. The band itself uses a variety of string a percussion instruments to get a very cafe and poetry style music of music.

The band opens this EP with 'What's That' a very Ave-grant style song with a thundering washboard rumble in the background then the vocals of one of the ladies jumping forward to lead this mystical music into full swing.

The next track 'Quill Feather Pen' shakes it up a bit with different vocals, male this time, and this also shows us what a variety that the band can perform in even a small EP. This song is a tad slower but still mixing the instruments up to give us a vast array of sounds and experiences during the lyrics.

'Wakes Only Daughter' is a particularly powerful song with fantastic fiddle work to really get people's excitement and adrenaline running during the tune. Similarly the 'Tam Lin Set' does a fantastic job of taking this charge already built and keeping it flowing throughout the listener into what would be a great folk music set.

The band lists themselves as 'Alternative' and seem to take elements from all different genres into a style that suits them best of all. They don't, to me, belong to any one genre, they kind of flitter between as they please; only some other bands who tend to try the same, they actually succeed.

Their music is a nice addition to the world collection and hopefully plenty more will inspire them to write and perform good music for us here in the UK.
