Duo 'Caz Forbes & Ste Moncrieff', previous known as 'The Ravens' have added another album to their repertoire with soft and gentle album called 'The Green Lady'.

The pair take a good mix of traditional from different areas such as 'Whitby maid' and The Leaving of Liverpool' then add their own extra spices, almost like taking an old recipe and making alterations to improve the taste. Sporting vocals, guitar and a mix of other instruments they firmly make their mark in the folk world.

They like to keep their music fresh, so present us slower tunes such as 'Lowlands Away' and nice instrumental editions like 'Orkney Tune'. In the interests of keeping fresh, it is not all simply slow music, as we get a lovely foot tapping tune called 'Maggie May' which helps to liven up the album.

Both have beautiful vocals, with Caz leading and Ste backing, it works perfectly in unison with each other, as shown particularly on the tracks 'Geordie' and 'Young Edwin in the Lowlands'. The tales told in the stories may be traditional but this duo do not simply re-tell, instead they breath fresh life into them.

The album can set of certain buzz words like 'enchanting' and 'soothing' but these words would not really do justice to the joy that these two bring through their storytelling music.
