I know I passed my GCSE French exam; I got bit of a surprise when I heard Aeropop. I have never heard of Alexander Von Mehren before so I genuinely didn't know what to expect.

There was no clear transition between one tracks to another, it often confused me when listening to the album. The moment I pressed play, it was like I was taken on some sort of mystical and magical adventure on a roundabout, chilling with Dougal and Zebedee (Magic Roundabout Reference). I was totally amazed. The way the 29 year old artist from Norway is able to use his skills, playing most of the instruments himself, including upright piano, Fender Rhodes, Moog, Vibraphone, Guitar, bass and drums is technically brilliant.

It all adds up to the quirkiness of the album. For it certainly is different. The only way I could describe it is, if ELO and Terry Wogan collaborated this is what the album of Aeropop would sound like.

I don't think this music is for everyone, if you are a fan of the Eurovision or love a classic French film then this is for you. It's like a fusion of jazz and funk, I call it junk (Robots Reference).

I feel that it may take a while for me to warm up to this album
