It looks like being a very good week for the Fatea Showcase Sessions and a number of bands that have appeared on them or who are on the current session, "Rising". "Rising" is going to be heavily featured on Bob Meyer's radio show on Radio Wey(www.radiowey.co.uk) on Tuesday 23rd at 9pm.

One of the acts on the "Rising" Session are getting some airtime before then, 24 Pesos are going to be on Paul Jones blues show on Radio Two between 7 and 8pm on Monday. If you miss that they can be caught live at the Maltings in Farnham on the 25th.

Talking of Radio Two, a number of acts that have previously been on the Fatea Showcase Sessions have made the shortlists for a number of the Radio Two Folk Awards. Megson have got a nod for best duo, Ewan McLennan is up for the Horizon Award whilst The Demon Barbers are included in Best Live act.

Two early dates for your diary as well as a great opportunity to visit the South Coast next year, Bournemouth Folk Festival will be housed at the BIC on Saturday March 12th, whilst Purbeck Folk Festival (www.purbeckfolk.co.uk) will be running from August 26th-28th at Langton Matravers. Rash Records gave got volume two in their "Home" compilation series (http://rashrecords.co.uk/album/home-volume-2) available as a free download, pop along and help yourself. We'll be reviewing it in a couple of weeks.

Finally from this snippets and especially for all you lovers of folk rock opera, Anais Mitchell will be performing "Hades Town" at the Union Chapel on January 25th,which should be an absolutely stuning venue for the performance.
