We are a new acoustic/ folk night who reside in the Samuel Fox Suite at The Venue, Stocksbridge in Sheffield.
The club takes place every last Friday of the month and is hosted by local musician, Charlie Barker, who invites guests to come take to the stage for floor spots as well as a set from our invited guest each month.
For our launch in September 2009, invited guest, Sheffield musician Ian Britt captivated the audience with a stunning set of original material.
October's club sees Derbyshire's finest four piece take to the stage, the Down Trodden String Band, bringing their own brand of American old-time folk. These boys hail from Bakewell, but sound like they're straight out of the deep south.
Listeners and performers are both very welcome, regardless of musical genre and ability. The stage is open to all.
If you do wish to take part all you need to do is bring yourself and/ or your instruments, get your name down on the door at 8.30pm the start of the night and we'll plug you in or mic you up to the PA.

Charlie Barker, club host information
It has been a busy few years for Charlie who made her TV debut on BBC1's 'The Next Big Thing', was a BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Awards semi finalist and has already recorded her first album 'Sleeping at the Station'.
Charlie plays festivals and venues throughout the UK, making appearances at Henley Festival, Cambridge Rock Festival, Buxton Fringe, Ely Folk Festival and City of York Folk Festival to name a few.
She has had the opportunity to support some of the biggest names on the acoustic scene, including Dougie MacLean, The Strawbs, John Parr, Chris While & Julie Matthews, Jez Lowe and shared a stage with country/ rock band Smokie on their 2008 UK tour date at the Metrodome Arena.
