West Of Eden
Nautically influenced sixth album from Swedish celtic-folksters West of Eden.
Featuring 13 tracks based on myths and legends surrounding shipwrecks around the Cornish coast of England.
The band located to the Cornish based Sawmill Studios to record the album, where the only way of getting to the studios is by boat……….how's that for authenticity!
Lead vocalist Jenny Schaub posseses an authentic celtic vocal style, at times with a purity of tone not unlike our own Sandy Denny.
This album displays West of Eden as a band of consumate and versatile musicians, and there is a distinguishable depth of quality about their music, which when comparing them to other celtic-influenced bands puts them in the top division.
'Safe Crossing' is undoubtably a very strong album, and the only regret must be that the band have chosen to restrict touring just to their own shores in 2012, which is quite surprising with an album of such promising appeal to the UK festival audiences.
