This is one of the reviews that I was a bit remiss in. I've confessed elsewhere to a wrong pile and festive season error, but which definitely needs a review.

The last time I reviewed an EP from the Dorset/Norfolk outfit Two Coats Colder, they were a duo, as the title, "Quadrants" might imply, this EP sees them as a four piece, with David Baird and Chris Bullen joining original members Ray Taylor and Anna Bass, though bizarrely, at least if you're a bit retentive, the EP actually contains five tracks. The good news is that means we all get to enjoy an extra track.

The sound is fuller than on the previous releases, not that it could be considered thin on those, just more full on. It seems to give more depth for the lyrics to work in. Two Coats Colder have a great reputation for songs rich in social commentary and occasionally history, this ep builds on that reputation.

Song lead may be an obvious description of a cd, but it's also a perfect one for "Quadrants", Two Coats Colder write and perform great songs. The only complaint about this release is that it's only an EP. Grab yourself a copy and hope that it also helps brings an album closer.
