The Brew UK
The Brew UK consists of Guitarist and Lead Singer - Jason Barwick, Drummer - Kurtis Smith and Tim Smith, Kurtis's father, on Bass.
The band come from Grimsby and have been together since 2004 and have recently added the UK suffix so that they are no longer confused with an overseas band of the same name.
Live in Europe, as the name suggests was recorded during their Spring 2012 tour across Europe in response to the growing calls from their fan base for a live album that captures the high energy packed shows the trio produce night after night on the road.
Most of the 12 tracks are from the bands previous albums, "The Third Floor" (2011), "A Million Dead Stars" (2010) and "The Joker" (2008) and has been given a hard driving mix by producer Chris West.
The band has learnt their craft by not only headlinering shows across Europe, TV appearances and by providing support to the likes of Lynyrd Skynyrd and ZZ Top.
The band have put their own spin on their influences of Led Zeppelin, early Pink Floyd and Jimi Hendrix, along with The Raconteurs and Kula Shaker and have fused them together into a sound that appeals to both older and younger audiences
The set opens with the powerful Six Dead, which sets the scene for the rest of the cd. Moving along to Every Gig Has a Neighbour, which has a Hendrix feel during the opening which carries on into the guitar break, quickly by the full on rock of Postcode Hero. Another standout track is Reached The Sky, which starts with a little Pink Floyd and then moves into a nice little grove followed by a bit of Hendrix, but all done in their own style.
Live In Europe is a high energy packed rock recording which leaves you feeling hot and sweaty just listening to it. Play loud and enjoy.
