Named by BBC Introducing as 'One To Watch', Maria Jordan is looking to break into the mainstream with new single What You Gonna Do. It's a mellow, flowing country pop song with a smooth vocal and excellent production which has all the potential to see Jordan reach the new level she desires.

With the likes of Taylor Swift featuring high in the UK charts, the time is right for a release like this which shares many of the same aspects. Indeed, some members of the production team that worked on Maria Jordan's album 'Debris' have also worked with Taylor Swift, which may explain some of the shared DNA. As it is, this is a solid if unspectacular single which caters very well for the middle-of-the-road pop fan. You ears won't be challenged, but neither should they be offended.

Credit should be given though for a fierce independent streak on Jordan's part, releasing through her own imprint in spite of other offers. For this alone, this single should be given a shot, and with any luck it will find its audience.
