Ma Polaine's Great Decline are Clinton and Beth, partners in and out of music.

Clinton joined Beth's soul & blues band 'Beth and the Black Cat Bones' in August 2010.

In February 2011, whilst the two were making a failed attempt at reworking the blues classic 'My Babe', the first Ma Polaine's Great Decline song was written, 'Pigfoot Blues'

More songs followed, but the two realised that Beth and the Black Cat Bones was not going to be the vehicle to carry them.

That vehicle of choice is as the Ma Polaine's Great Decline with their self titled debut ep, which features the fruits of the new collaboration manifested in five excellent tracks.

There's no single definition of musical style that can be attached Ma Polaine's Great Decline, but essentially the five tracks are based on a stripped back blues structure with the lightest of folk and country embellishments. Think Imelda May meets Lucinda Williams and your in the right park.

It's a promising start, and there's definitely an album waiting to be written.
