It must be a great feeling to know you've written a great song. The masses listen to it, tweet about it and pass it on to their mates. Take that and times it by five and you'll be the exciting newcomer that is Kimberly Anne, where her brand new EP, 'Bury It There', features five of the loveliest, soul warming tracks heard in a long while. It's a rare treat to be given a CD where you can't decide which track to call your favourite. Big claim? You really need to hear this lady sing.

Opening with the track 'Bury It There' immediately draws you into Anne's world, where it's always luminous, balmy and welcoming. It's got a hypnotic bed from the first note; tribal in its intensity and gracious in its talent-filled depths. 'I must be built of different stuff' is not just a lyric, it's a fact and this track captures the mind and soul with its sheer brilliance. 'La La' continues in the same vein, thumping through its allotted time like a wild heartbeat, taking you on its intense journey.

There's a part of you that beats a drum in accompaniment to its call of arms. What's interesting with Anne is that she has a voice that's as rare and unknown (at the moment) as it is hugely familiar. I don't mean her vague likeness to Tracy Chapman (it would be unfair to label Anne as a sound-a-like) but listen to one of these tracks and you'll understand, somewhere in your mind and music collection is a voice you know yet never heard before.

On every track you can sense both a deep connection and detachment between Anne and her music, where she tells a tale like an ancient but with an innocent's eyes upon it ('Two's Company' is the notable track for this, hauntingly luscious and beautifully moving to boot).

Never Be Yours' and 'Kind Regards' get into the roots of your emotions and gently prods them into life, awakening a mish-mash of feelings you might only reserve for Anne's voice alone.

With her true home-grown sound the big time is surely beckoning with all of its sparkles and spangles for this lady and 'Bury It There' is just the start. Your time with this EP will render you hopelessly in love. Don't say I didn't warn you.
