If you have not heard Andrew Page's music ,you should remedy this situation immediately. Why? Because he is a very talented young man. If you like intelligent lyrics, soulful singing and driving acoustic guitar, you will love his debut album "Open the Door".

He says that his influences are from Jack Johnson to Jackson Browne ,so that should give you some idea of what to expect from his music. There are some lovely songs on this album ,particularly "Butterfly" with its Spanish-influenced guitar and aching vocals. Or try "The Light" ,another gentle acoustic ballad ,with strings complementing Andrew's voice and guitar. Beautiful.

There is a general sense of optimism running through the songs. On "Happiness " ,Andrew 's subject is told they " Deserve Happiness , But It Doesn't Come For Free ".

"Ship " is a bluesy track ,which showcases Andrew's soulful voice to good effect, as does the final song "Weatherman". "Stranger" ,is a gently rocking acoustic song ,which somehow reminds me of the band "America " [which is no bad thing ,I would add].

Overall, this is an excellent album and deserves to be heard.
