Two years ago Sean Webster turned his back on the sunshine and wine of Australia to return to the UK and record the album he always wanted.

See It Through is the result. If you like your rock music with a bluesy edge then this could be for you. That's not to say it's all blam blam blam. No there are plenty of softer interludes among the 10 tracks.

Now perhaps I am showing my age, but I was brought up on a diet of Paul Rodgers and Robert Plant, arguably the two finest rock singers the UK's has ever seen and it is always tricky and perhaps unfair to see how today's singers measure up.

Sean is a fine earnest rock singer with rich voice that rumbles in all the right places.

He's no slouch on the electric guitar either and he clearly had a great time recording this album.

He wrote or co-wrote nine of the ten tracks. The exception being a cover of I'd Rather Go Blind as recorded by the wonderful Etta James.

Unfortunately this version falls into the trap of over indulgence - it is slowed right down and has an unnecessary extra verse tagged on the end and at eight minutes and twenty five seconds is the longest track on the album. I think he just got carried away.

I was reminded of the saying "less is more".

The rest of the album ranges from no-holds barred rock, as in the crunchy opener The Mayor to more laid-back numbers such as Whisky and See It Through.

A good effort and if you love lots of rock guitar and quality singing then check this out.
