Ruby & The RevelatorsRuby & The Revelators
Album: Live At The Tuesday Night Music Club
Label: Self Released
Tracks: 5
Website: http://www.rubytigersings.com

These are five live tracks from an evening recorded in Coulston, Surrey last July, featuring Ruby Tiger on vocals, Louise Maggs (guitar) Russ Grooms (bass) and Vinnie Lammi (drums).

And each of these songs is a classic. From the opening Call It Stormy Monday, running through Best Friend, Need Your Love So Bad, It Hurts Me Too before finishing off with I'd Rather Go Blind.

Ruby can certainly sing - she hits the spot in the opening song. The slower Best Friend has a jazzy feel to it. Need Your Love So Bad is also given a fussy jazzy treatment which was not to my liking. That's the risk you run when you cover such well-known songs.

It Hurts Me Too is slowed right down, allowing the powerful Ruby to show her full range.

The set is completed by I'd Rather Go Blind, a perfect song to showcase Ruby's talent.
