The definition of Watershed on the inside of the album cover: A time of decision: A moment of change, Turning Point. How fitting a title for an album that confirms this phenomenal duo as one of the most exciting around at the moment. Almost exclusively self-penned, this is a beautifully personal album with each song written for a person or persons. The exception is the title track, a spine tingling arrangement with lyrics that touch on the soaring peaks of the Lake District, as well as a slight political tinge.

The variety within the album is truly breath taking, from the country tinged Stones, to the very contemporary arrangement of Tonight. While the majority of the vocals are provided by Hannah, in sublime voice throughout, Phillip also takes a turn on the reflective Yarrow Mill, a touching take on family and loss. Alongside the stunningly intricate accompaniments comes January, an unaccompanied offering from Hannah about the parting of ways. Given the current refugee crisis, the words of Foundling seem particularly poignant with its crying chorus and an air of desperation to the lyrics. That desperation is present in London too, a heart breaking story of a single mother coming to London to give birth and avoid the Magdalene Laundries. The album rounds off with a perfect description of the life of a musician, giving up the stability of a "normal" job for life on the road.

While the album is a perfect showcase of Phillip and Hannah's exceptional song writing, it does feature two stunning instrumentals. Lament, the only traditional track and the original offering from Phillip, December are both timely reminders of the exquisite musicianship of this pair of multi instrumentalists.

Overall, this is an exciting album from start to finish. Already Folk Award Winners in 2014, I wouldn't be at all surprised if this latest offering is rewarded with more accolades.
