Papaslide, aka Rune Nordvik, is well-established blues musician from Norway. He caught the blues bug at a young age and then got turned onto Johnny Winter.

The Deepest Pain is his third album - it features three Winter tunes, plus an Albert Collins and a Mark Knopfler cover, as well as seven original songs.

Overall this is blues rock of the highest order with a real mixture of styles which keeps the music fresh and alive.

Watch out that the Hurricane doesn't catch you out - you have been warned.

Sparkling slide guitar throughout but also lots of incendiary guitar, especially on Give Me My Blues - Albert would have been proud.

And I'm sure Johnny would approve of the playing on this album, the final cut of Serious As A Heartattack is particularly fine and a fit ending to a great rocking album.
