India Electric Co is made up of Devonshire Duo, Cole Stacey and Joseph O'Keef, their debut album, which has already been chosen as one of The Telegraph's top 40 folk albums of 2015, wonderfully pairs Stacey's coaxing vocals with the beautifully talented instrumentation of O'Keef.

Pop hooks, traditional folk instrumentation with a provocative layer of Latino beat. Never mind the gypsy rhythms that capture hints of Spain, the Balkans and Grappelli's Paris. India Electric Co injects this eclectic mix with traditional folk instrumentation - fiddle, banjo, accordion etc. Allowing the music to spin forward down an avenue full of junctions and roundabouts.

Lost In Translation appears as a conversation between a Latino and a Brit, swirling Latino percussions, implying some long distance relationship, founded upon glances and mixed up chances. My Friends Are Rich feels like a radio favourite with more musings of a traditional folk song, lathered sweetly by Stacey's intriguing vocals.

Written for an indie home movie, Beirut is a particular favourite, one you can enjoy for all its artistic exuberance. Stacey's wonderfully soft vocals submerge beneath the lively almost shanty like beats.

The Girl Who Left Behind Me is a mixture of trancy, almost euphoric symphonies, that alternate between Latino, upbeat funk and soft, almost spiritual folk.

Evident lovers of coffee, Stacey's claims he is saving up for his own coffee hand grinder. The album is a little bit like the search for the perfect blend - rich in taste, sweet and nutty at the same time, mixing flavours from all over the world.

The duo is currently touring the U.K with Midge Ure until 23 October.
