An angelic, sometimes haunting voice with fantastic fiddle musicianship from Gerogia Shackleton. Joining her on this four track EP are Nic Zuppardi (Mandolin) and Aaeren Bennett (Guitar and Bass). The result is a blend of old time traditional Celtic folk. This is particularly evident in the instrumental Shetland/Cape Breton Set where the fiddle and guitar combine and provide music that would suit a proper clapping and folk dance or as we'd say in Wales dawnsio gwerin.

The standout track has to be Black Sluice portraying a gloomy story of Bill a man who has to tackle rising waters and save a dog but this is one rescue that doesn't have a happy ending with "their one and only aim to take the life of man". Georgia shows a fantastic craft of choosing great descriptive words in her lyrics while painting a clear picture telling different stories of people and places no matter how bleak the subject is.

This is a very good, strong and promising introduction and I'm sure there will be more to come from Georgia as a solo artist and musician and as part of The Georgia Shackleton Trio.
