How do you like to listen to music? Sitting in front of your computer, while driving your car, on headphones during a workout? I listened to Erik Sitbon's album on my little used stereo, whilst doing the housework and wearing a battered straw cowboy hat, a method I can heartily recommend!
Whether driving, working out or dusting, I can also heartily recommend this album. The first track, Run Around With The Angels, was a little poppy for me but after a few seconds of track 2, Ghost Town, when the slide guitar kicked in I was hooked! So much so that on completion of the album (and most of the vacuuming) I put it on again.
This isn't a ground-breaking album, it's not going to take you to places you've never been to but you'll certainly be walking with a certain purpose afterwards.
Lyrically I found it a little predictable and often baffling yet the arrangement and the guitars - both electric and slide - bring it back in to the realms of greatness.
Lovers of Americana, buy this album or at the very least give it a serious listen, you won't be disappointed!
