A debut album from a girl who hails from Huddersfield and has been performing since the 80's in a singing career immersed in soul. Here we have ten tracks with a modern soulful blues sound.

Blues Blues Lovin' is a full-on up tempo opener which gives Angela plenty of room to display her vocal prowess. Her voice is soulful not strident, confident with lots of musicality.

Set Me Free is a stripped back very soulful R & B tune with slide guitar that languidly stretches out. Summer Nights is another slower tune which allows Angela to let rip.

The album moves up a gear with I'm Feeling Good About Me - an optimistic up tempo number. It's followed by Hopeless, an introspective slower blues with powerful vocals

Better Man allows Angela to tackle a down and dirty blues which carries off in style.

I is a sassy up-front blues with a big dose of soul - however I thought I should be hearing more accompaniment. This song cries out for a horn section…

Ice Cold Tears is another slower number which starts with a solo guitar backing, allowing the vocals to shine through. That's You is a blues shuffle with more hi- octane singing.

I'll Be There is a soulful slow number to bring the album to a close. You can just imagine couples smooching on the dancefloor as this goes out.

A encouraging confident debut. The blues scene may have plenty of female singers, but there's a new kid in town.
