Jonathan Segel has had a multicultural life, born in France to growing up in California and this comes across in his music.

His album Shine Out has no cohesiveness to it. Each song has its own individual style to it. Whether it is an extra voice, instrument or feeling emulated through the music. Not one song is the same, which is a good as you never know to what to expect.

Shine Out is an album that you can listen to whilst on a long journey or simply as you arrive. Especially with the track Turtles All The Way Down, odd title I know but the song takes you away. Listening to it I can picture myself sitting on a park bench or walking through a woodland area. I appreciate the cross between the soft and the hard rock undertones from the electric guitar.

Segel has that chill out, hippy camper van vibe. Just imagine you have to go to Scotland to go camping and all your gear is wet due to the constant rain. Just put on the Shine Out album on your Volkswagen Campervan and everything will be alright.

Shine Out will dry out any blue and murky day.
