Imagine if Cher picked up a guitar and decided to take a contemporary look at her folk origins, then Danielle Woodrow is what you would get.

From LA, Woodrow has released her debut album Turning. Changing in roots and paths of emotions, it is a never ending road to love, regret and discovery. As her tracks flow like poetry in emotion, her enchanting voice and beautiful acoustic guitar playing eases you into that relaxing mood yet still putting you on edge.

Quite a satirical writer, I particular enjoy the track of Locked, as she sings I just hide in my room and wrap time round my many complaints. I can relate to this song and I appreciate her sarcasm and emotion that she pours into each song.

Her voice is very much like Cher's only there is more of a folky and bluesy tone to her voice. A really dark and husky tone yet still delicate and tender, experiencing music since the age of 5 her voice is suited to this folk genre

It would be interesting see her live, as her album is rather intimate, as a listener you find yourself engaged in each song. Not wanting to be distracted, I want to listen to each individual song. As by each song, a piece of Woodrow is revealed.

As she sings without my story, without my fame, without anecdotes, I share all the same.
