Paul Liddell is a local singer songwriter from Sunderland. I recently heard this song for the first time when he performed it recently at The Watch House in Roker, a new event he is hosting. I was immediately impressed by the song and excited to hear the recorded version when it was released. It is a beautiful, moving, yet somehow upbeat look at the decline of his hometown and his attachment to the area. Whilst locals obviously relate to the place it is about, I think everyone everywhere will relate to the lyrics, as many places are experiencing similar decline.

An added bonus is the second track, The Piano Burns, paints an articulate lyrical picture of the harder side of performing. It is a great track, well worth a listen.

I sincerely hope that both songs will receive good radio airplay.
