Monster Ceilidh Band
Monster Ceilidh Band are a folk band like no other, coming from my hometown Newcastle they are for the next generation of folk and the lovers of electro pop.
Having reviewed these guys before I knew what I was letting myself in for but for anybody else who has never heard them then you are in for a treat.
If they were a dance group would be described as River dance mixed with Diversity. They mix quirky tunes with foot stomping beats especially their track Jacks Back, not that I know who Jack is but it sounds like he or even maybe she is back with vengeance.
With Amy Thatcher, Carly Blai, David De La Haye, Joseph Truswell and Kieran Szifris their music has me up on the kitchen table dancing a merry jig.
Fans of old video games will love Super Mario Smack that is full of bleeps and crazy sounds similar to the original.
This album takes us on a journey with the Doctor in his tardis, you are travelled into space to a planet that is addicted to folk music combined with pop and experimenting with it to see what the outcomes is.
I am proud to say that this brilliant folk music produced by talent musicians from the Northumberland, and I feel that I now understand a little about what it is to be a true northerner.
