Lucy Ward
I once described Lucy Ward as 'Not so much a star as a constellation' and it's a description I hold to. 2011 was a massive year for Lucy, catapulting her to a much wider audience. Her debut full length album, "Adelphi Has To Fly" winning her the BBC Radio Two Horizon award, a nomination for best traditional song and the Fatea debut album of the year.
Live appearances have established Lucy as a consummate performer on stage as well as in the studio. She is a very unique performer, happy to quote from 1960s Boyfriend Annuals to give a very different perspective on how to deliver a folk set in the 21st century.
There are some that are going to be surprised that Lucy is only here as a showcase artist. She is an undoubted rising star, expect this to be one of the performances of the festival. Lucy Ward is a very expressive artist, definitely one to see.
