Having spent two years touring with legend, Leonard Cohen, it was almost inevitable that he was going to appear on The Webb Sisters' most recent album "Savages". If that alone is not worthy of gaining real life sisters, Charley and Hattie a showcase at Cambridge, how about it being their third album and support slots with Jamie Callum, Rufus Wainwright and Katie Melua.
It would be fair to say that this multi-instrumental singer-songwriter have paid their dues, served their apprenticeship, done their time, or whatever phrase you want to insert here, to earn their chance to get closer to you with a Cambridge Showcase.
"Savages", produced by Peter Asher, contains the International Music Award, Best Adult Contemporary song, "Baroque Thoughts". The girls haven't just been busy on their own account, appearing with Dixie Chick's singer Natalie Raines on the version of "God Only Knows" that closed the season of HBO's Big Love, as well as appearing on a Judy Collins tribute album that also featured Dolly Parton and Chrissy Hynde, if that's not a cv that makes you want to pop along and give the girl's a listen, then you're either a harsh boss or a poor HR recruiter.
