Paul McKenna Band
In recent years, most members of the Paul McKenna Band have been on various stages at Cambridge, but never as the Paul McKenna Band, for whom this is technically their festival debut.
Last year Paul(right) was Brian McNeill's special guest on both his Friday night slot and during the Saturday Session. A couple of years earlier, that honour had gone to the bands fiddle player Rua MacMillan(far right). Rua also played the festival with his own trio a couple of years back.
Along with the likes of Braebach and Bodega, the Paul McKenna Band, have been redefining Scottish traditional music in the last few years. Most recently with the release of the band's second album "Stem The Tide" on Greentrax.
Playing the Thursday night the band will really ensure that Cambridge 47 gets off to a rip roaring start and I for one intend to be right down at the front.
