Justin Townes Earle
The record of second generation artists at Cambridge has been mixed. Whilst there have been the successes, Eliza Carthy, Martha Wainwright, there have also been the less successful, Teddy Thompson and Harper Simon, my money would be on Justin Townes Earle being in the former group.
His dad(Steve), stepmom(Alison Moorer) and Aunt(Stacey Earle) have all played the festival over the years and gone down extremely well. It would be fair to say that he's got Americana and blues in his veins and now that he's cleared all the junk out of his system the dna is doing him fine.
He was part of the Big Surprise Tour, alongside Gillian Welch, David Rawlings, Old Crowe Medicine Show and the Felice Brothers which coincided with him picking up the emerging artist award at Americana Music Awards.
He's no slouch at releasing albums either, with roughly one a year since 2007, though as yet he's not made a huge impact in the charts on this side of the pond, yet. Passionate and full of fire, this could go absolutely anywhere, looking forward to it immensely.
