Megson have been a festival favourite as a folk club guest. Last year they opened the festival in the Club Tent, this year they get a festival showcase
Stu and Debbie Hanna, aka Megson, have been building themselves a steady following now through years of hardgraft, great songs and performance as well as interpretation of traditional song.
There's always been a good mix of light and dark in their sets, uptempo frippery as well as more serious material. It's a combination that's worked well.
Their debut album was the first to be awarded five stars in the revamped online Fatea and we've watched their increasing success with interest.
In addition to his performance with Megson, Stu is gaining himself quite a reputation as a producer, Show Of Hands are amongst the most recent bands knocking at his door.
This will be one great show and hopefully a step towards the bigger stages Megson thoroughly deserve.
