Bellowhead
Originally put together by John Spiers and Jon Boden, Bellowhead are a veritable folk supergroup including amongst their number, Benji Kirkpatrick, Pete Flood, Rachel McShane, Paul Sartin and Andy Mellon. They are one of the biggest acts on the circuit, not only in terms of size and stage presence, but also in volume and recognition.
They are one of the few folk acts to have gone on stage with their own burlesque dancers, an artform they named their debut album after. They regularly bother the scorers at the various award ceremonies, both for the live work and as a group.
As far as Cambridge is concerned, Bellowhead would fall into the, 'back by popular demand section', the is their third appearance since the band formed back in 2004.
Not that a regular return should worry people, Bellowhead are constantly reinventing themselves and the shows they perform, though it'll be fascinating to see if the burlesque dancers make an appearance.
The great strength of Bellowhead is their ability to pull together songs and tunes from many traditions and get the whole to sound like it should hang out together. Expect a fair amount of dancing at the front with this lot as well as through the tent and beyond.
